Engg from Mysore University and post graduate degree in Industrial Engg & Management from University of Wisconsin, USA, Post graduate Diploma in SQC & OR from ISI, and a Diploma in Production Management from West Berlin, Germany. One of the founder members of Industrial Engineering Chapter in Kerala & Tamil Nadu in early 1961–62.

Put in a total of 53 years of experience with 35 years in senior positions at Murugappa Group companies and about 18 years as Consultant with a difference in many companies of repute at Chennai in the area of Productivity Enhancement in Manufacturing Operations and productivity linked wage settlements of about 40 numbers with union teams of different companies. All along the implementation of the productivity improvements with head count reduction and drastic changes in the shop floor were the priorities while working as employee or as consultant.
